Online and Kicking Ventures
Everyday, everywhere, we come up with ideas. Some of them are worth executing because they let us play, work and experiment in our way. This is a selection of the ventures we chose to chase.
Fighting disconnect with conversation since 2014
There’s a disconnect at the places where people meet, learn and work. Conversations connect people, create understanding and show new perspectives. A Wildcard is an opportunity to have a conversation with someone. People can express and share their conversation starter (their goal) using the app.
Wildcard enables conversations between people so they can change and improve the world. Wildcard Stacks Wildcards at places where people learn (universities), work (offices) and where people meet (venues/events).
Stirring up adult lives through kid game 'Tag you're it' since 2014
We had this idea to start playing 'tag you’re it' with 10 random friends scattered over the Netherlands. Doing that, what happened was we magically created smiles on so many people’s faces. We got major press and we spread the word about it to inspire others to do the same. By experimentation in real life, we found out this could be done at scale by converting the experience in to an app.
After a successful crowd funding campaign to launch an app, we started the movement from there. The response was overwhelming, and we started an open source collaboration using Assembly.
Follow Taggy on Twitter, because can already start with your friends or family and have fun, let us know your adventures.
Showing a way in to virtual worlds since 2015
We look for 'a way in' to virtual realities, a better one. We offer a platform for artists, nerds, brands tapping into the world of virtual reality. A portal to the most engaging and broad Virtual Reality content. Because VR is more than games, it’s for entertainment, education, experiences, haha even therapy, and much more.
This is still in exploring development, follow our progress on Twitter.
Making music experiences interactive since 2014
Proving that listening to music online and digitally is more than a tracklists. They are experiences, which should be as immersive and engaging as when you close your eyes and go wild in your mind. The name, referring to Alex Steinweiss, the guy designing the first and thus inventing album art/covers. Which significantly increased music revenue and ignited collectors of music.
We offer artists and designers the tools to create amazing music experiences next to the brilliant music they are already producing. Join the movement now.
Connecting people through sports since 2013
Sport is a universal language and this is particularly interesting, because you can play sports with anyone, anywhere.
Playing sports, games together connects people on this primal level. With 'Let's play' we connected people with people they don't know to play sports.
Pick a time, place and sport and send out instant notifications for people around you. That was basically the app which was discontinued in 2015.
Making app ideas happen since 2011
SellanApp connected ideas with funds and developers, making app ideas happen. A great idea in the middle of the app gold rush, everyone wanted an app and everyone could get one.
SellanApp went publicly bankrupt in 2014, I wrote about it 6 months later.
Inspiring people to travel and experience more since 2010
“Traveling to other countries, exploring cultures is one of the most exciting learning experiences. Doing this for only a couple of weeks a year is not enough to get a proper sense of what is out there. People should travel more often, for the simple reason of better understanding mankind.”
Traveling enriches life in such a broad way. Milan started to travel more and more, started remote working with my partners, clients and friends. He coined the term ‘Tech Nomading’, which means leveraging technology having an office and and feeling at home anywhere. Technology enabling to nomad far and wide.
It’s his full time lifestyle now. he attempts to inspire and teach you how to do it in his manual/blog technomading.com .
Giving a literal and mental space for entrepreneurs since 2009
Lev Kaupas was a traveling collective for starting impactful entrepreneurs in Amsterdam. Ideas and business were validated in a close knit community where events, exhibition and workshops were given.
Discontinued in 2012, see pictures of the three buildings here.
